🎗️ Wellness Saturday: GoMAD Raises Awareness on Breast Cancer and Medical Myths
The GoMAD Wellness Team dedicated this week’s Wellness Saturday to an impactful awareness session on breast cancer prevention, early detection, and the dangers of medical misinformation.
Led by Assistant Wellness Coordinator Ayuk Eta John, the session educated members on breast cancer risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of regular Breast Self-Examinations (BSE).
Participants openly discussed harmful cultural misconceptions, including myths surrounding bras, biopsies, and traditional practices such as breast pounding. The Wellness Team strongly emphasized that early medical diagnosis and treatment save lives.
The session also addressed the stigma surrounding mastectomies and the dangers of abandoning professional medical care for unverified alternative treatments promoted by so-called “quarter doctors.”
The program concluded with a strong message encouraging early detection, accurate health information, and compassionate support for breast cancer patients within communities.

Mindset Monday Report 11th May 2026
The community focused on confronting fear and embracing personal potential. Participants reflected on motivational clips from Coach Carter and Akeelah and the Bee, both centered on the message that fear and self doubt often hold people back more than actual limitations.
The session encouraged deep reflection on how many individuals play small, procrastinate, or avoid action due to fear of failure or judgment. Members shared personal insights about struggling with hesitation, insecurity, and delayed action despite knowing what to do.
A key takeaway was the need to stop waiting for perfection and instead take intentional steps toward growth, even when afraid.
The director emphasized that personal and collective progress is limited when people hide their gifts or allow fear to make decisions for them.
The session concluded with a strong call to action for participants to step out, take risks, create, and pursue their purpose, reinforcing that even failure is more valuable than inaction.

RELAXATION SUNDAY IN THE GoMAD COMMUNITY
Today was indeed a practical move for the relaxation term. A little parable was shared in the community saying" All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy " which therefore led to a moment of reflection on our day spent.
Members gladly expressed themselves as their responses were based on moments of rest, relaxation, enjoyment while others were based on reality of busy days and the occurrence of unexpected situations that reminds us how fragile life can be and the need for a reset and quiet time.
It was further shown how important it is to to pause at times, be honest and staying aware of where we truly are as growth is being manifested through our consistency and checks in daily.
The day ended with special words of support to a brethren who passed through difficult moments today as the community embodied itself as a whole family staying grateful to God always.

Yesterday’s session in the GoMAD community centered on a simple but powerful truth: everyone is carrying something, even when it is not visible.
Through the short video below and reflective questions, participants explored judgment, patience, and personal struggles.
Some admitted to judging others too quickly, while others emphasized the importance of staying focused and not being distracted by what people around them are doing.
There was also an honest conversation about the challenge of being patient and tolerant, especially in difficult environments.
The key takeaway was clear: be less judgmental, more understanding, and stay focused on your path.
The session ended with a reminder from the coordinator, Mr God's love, that true growth is not just about agreeing with lessons, but deciding to live them. Transformation begins the moment we choose to change how we think and respond.
