Let’s be clear: What someone wears is never an invitation for violence.
R**e is not caused by clothing.
It is caused by choices, by perpetrators.
We must challenge harmful narratives and build a culture of accountability.
Stop the blame. Start the truth.

Sexual violence is often framed as a "women's issue," but the reality is that sexual violence does not discriminate. 1 in 6 men are survivors, too. It’s time to break the silence and ensure that every survivor, regardless of gender, feels seen, heard, and supported.

Communication is the heartbeat of every healthy relationship. Understanding and respecting boundaries doesn't just prevent harm, it strengthens the bond between partners and promotes a culture of trust.

A wedding ring does not replace a "Yes." Whether you’ve been together for one day or twenty years, consent is required every single time. Respect is the foundation of any healthy partnership.

Consent isn't a one-time thing—it's an every-time thing. 🛡️ In every relationship, your body remains your own. Respect boundaries. Require consent.

Today, the Community Centre for Integrated Development (CCID) visited Lumei Christie Primary School to raise awareness on sexual assault among pupils.

The session focused on helping children understand what sexual assault is, the importance of consent, and the age at which consent is legally recognized. Pupils were also encouraged to identify trusted adults, such as parents, guardians, and teachers, as safe persons they can speak to if they ever feel uncomfortable, harassed, or harmed.

A key message shared was that they should never be afraid or ashamed to speak up. Reporting abuse is a brave and important step toward staying safe.

Through this engagement, CCID continues its commitment to educating young people, preventing abuse, and building a culture where every child feels protected and heard.

A relationship is not a contract for permanent access. Relationship status does not equal consent. Whether it’s the first date or the tenth year, consent is required every single time. No exceptions. No excuses.

In commemoration of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Community Centre for Integrated Development (CCID), in collaboration with the Delegation of Women’s Empowerment and the Family and other civil society organizations, organized a peaceful match pass in Buea.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness and educate the public on sexual harassment and gender-based violence, issues that continue to affect communities across Buea and Cameroon at large.

The match pass commenced from UB Junction and proceeded to Check Point, Molyko Stadium, engaging community members and amplifying the call for action against all forms of violence.

Together, we stand to break the silence, challenge harmful norms, and promote safer communities for all.

Phrases like "she was asking for it" shift the responsibility from the perpetrator to the survivor. Let’s be clear: The only person responsible for an assault is the person who commits it.

22/04/2026

Silence is not a green light. Consent isn't about the absence of a "no" it's about the presence of an enthusiastic, clear "YES." Let's shift the conversation from what wasn't said to what was.
