AKWARA THE HOUSE HELP … (21+) … Part 2: LIFE IN BUEA
Follow Minem for more
Two weeks after the heated conversation with her family, Akwara found herself staring out the window of a crowded bus, her thoughts dancing between excitement and fear. Buea. A new place. A new life. But she wasn’t sure if she was ready.
She arrived at the Molyko park just before sunset. The air felt different — colder, faster. The man who was to pick her up, Mr. Tabi, was already waiting in a black car with dark glasses. He didn’t say much. Just looked at her from head to toe and nodded.
Mr. Tabi's House
The house was big. Too big. It had tiles that reflected her own shadow, a wide gate, and a barking dog that didn’t like strangers. Akwara felt small. She was shown a tiny boys' quarter behind the main building. That was her new room. No mosquito net. Just a mattress and a plastic chair.
The next morning, the real work began.
She washed clothes from sunrise — stiff jeans, heavy bedsheets, even innerwears. Then mopped floors, cleaned bathrooms, cooked food she didn’t taste, and washed more plates than she’d ever seen in her life. The lady of the house, Madam Lydie, was beautiful but mean. She wore lace and perfume and insulted with class.
Madam Lydie:

“Did you use oil or engine grease to fry these plantains? Foolish village girl!”

Mr. Tabi hardly spoke to her. He just observed. But at night, his footsteps around the corridor of the boys' quarters became louder… and slower. One night, he knocked.
Akwara pretended to sleep.
But she knew — Buea was going to change her.
And not just her location… but her life.
To be continued…

When we are talking real life success, one person winning does not translate to others losing. ( I know sport games have programmed our minds)

But We all can be winning differently and it’s very okay.
This competitive mindset is making people weaponize success.
I am the richest….
I am the best…..

You see someone winning and instead to celebrate and tap into their blessings
You instead feel attacked.
The average mindset here is so broken and it makes it very difficult to find likeminded people to work with.

Someone can be in your circle and still envy you. Scary
