AN OROKO WOMAN (brief)

Most of the Oroko Communities are matrilineal in nature , they hold high gratitude on the mother side more than the father side. In Oroko Nation the house family, which many calls as Esingi/ngobi cha ndabo/Erabe and many others are mostly significant but to the Men(patrilineal), but the matrilineal family is more significant to the women, and their children making it to be more stronger, that's Ngobi/Dibe/Mobia or Ebia /Eboro. ( The breast family) .

Why women side is more stronger is because of certain rites that can only be performed by the breast family (Ngobi/Eboro/Mobia)and not by the house family (Ndabo/Esingi/Erabe or Erabo. Eg , when someone happened to die in a stream (water), it's only the matrilineal family that can perform some rites to remove the deceased from the stream, while calling on others for help.

When accused of something you know not of, it's only your matrilineal family sister (who is fertile and producing babies) that you can use to prove your innocent with any juju presented in front of you for swearing. There are lots that goes with the matrilineal family in the Oroko land, that's why you see a Ngolo man can not do without his matrilineal family, if he is having ten farms, he will make sure he gives his sister at least one farm to look over his matrilineal family (Ngobi/Eboro/Mobia) known as Eyonda cha Ngobi (Family farm).

The women are so powerful in the Oroko land, they happened to be the founders of the great Masquerade known as Epke known in Oroko land as Mokongo/Butame. Also known as Nyonga Barana, meaning the Mother of Women. It's now controlled by Men,though some secretive women are initiated into the cult as a respect to their personalities and fulfilling the rites perform only by women to please the Nyonga Barana when she's angry and got disappear (Butame).

Though the matrilineal family is so significant in Oroko land, we still honor the patrilineal family because of heredity and respecter of manhood 💪😁

Happy weekend my fam🥰
