My painting "Nesting", next to 's at Root Division.
It was an honor to exhibit next to this diverse and interesting group artists in a show full of color and meaning 🫶. Thank you and Amelia Martinez for selecting my work 🥰.
The show was part of the annual event "Taste". Though this time I missed it, I'm glad to see my work as a background for other forms of art. Also, in the last photo there is doing her magic 🤍

These creations are like my fungi 🍄. Read to know why!
It had been a while since I wanted to make some cut-out art with the paper color palettes I use in every painting I make and then normally dispose. I started stocking more and more, hallucinating with the accidental color compositions and gestures that appear in each paper. I first did many cards, cutting leafy shapes and pasting them on white backgrounds, and then sent them to friends. Then I did this 5 works pictured here: these were the first works I did with an artistic intention using this technique. The series name is "to balance chaos" as that is what I felt I was doing. Grabbing a chaotic - though beautiful - piece of paper and bringing some form of control to it through some representational references and the intentionality of the lines that appear in every cut.
I've done many more since, and it keeps me in this live cycle of doing my large paintings as the process generates the waste I now know I'll need to keep giving life to my little cut-outs.

Three Stages of Motherhood, the name of this piece, goes from the sweet-spiritual-connected element of becoming a mother - in the left -to a more chaotic space of planes and depths - on the right... At the end, it's usually about contradictions.
Does this make any sense?
If you go to my feed you'll find the left panel of this painting shown individually (you'll understand the scale too). Sometimes I like to create pieces that work both together or separated.
Three Stages of Motherhood, currently shown at , 48x108inches (around 120x270cm), 2023.
