CQI Processing Generalist Course is back on the 6th and 7th of July! 🎉 Don't miss the opportunity to join this course and widen your knowledge about the fascinating world of coffee processing. This is a suitable level for any coffee professional willing to learn about the main processing methods and how they impact coffee chemistry and coffee flavor. This July, we’re hosting the WCC Judging Skills Program at our office in Zug, Switzerland.

The course is designed for anyone who wants to better understand how World Coffee Championships competitions are evaluated, how scores are given, and what judges are looking for on stage. It’s also the first step for those interested in becoming a WCC Certified Judge in the future.

Last week was filled with proud emotions, and with good reason! Our very own Catherine was crowned Vice-World Cup Tasters Champion at the World Championship in Bangkok. We are still overwhelmed by this incredible achievement. Catherine’s vibrant joy for life, hard work, and willingness to challenge herself are the very qualities that define her. She brings immense value to our Quality Competence Center and inspires the coffee community both locally in Switzerland and internationally.  We are incredibly lucky to have this talented woman on our team. Thank you for making us so proud, !

CATH IS THE NEW SWISS CUP TASTERS CHAMPION!!! 🏆

This weekend was full of emotions. The Swiss Coffee Festival took place and our Quality Manager Catherine Queiroz took part of the Cup Taster Championship and WON 1st place with an incredible time and 8/8 corrects cups!

Our whole team and friends were there supporting (you can hear them! 😅) and was a very exciting final!

CONGRATS ! Bangkok here we go!!! 🥳

Our last days here were filled with incredible coffee, great company, and amazing food! ☕🍽️

We had the honor of joining as judges for the 2nd NKG Verified Quality Contest: an event that brings together the best producers from the our good practices and sustainability program 🌱

It was inspiring to exchange experiences with talented professionals from around the world and taste some truly outstanding Brazilian coffees. In between cuppings, we also visited a few farms in the region and we couldn’t be happier to see how far Brazilian coffee has come! From innovative fermentations to new processing methods, the results in the cup are simply amazing.

Huge thanks to Ole, Chico, and the entire team for the warm hospitality and the incredible work you do.

The Top 10 coffees from the contest will soon be part of an exclusive auction for the buyers who participated in the event. Stay tuned: we’ll be sharing the results and details about the producers on our social media soon!

Celebrating Women in Coffee: Reflecting, Raising Awareness and Sparking Change

At NKG Quality, we’re proud to join this meaningful initiative in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025. Recognizing the vital role of women in coffee, we know that advancing gender equity is an ongoing effort – not just today but every day.

Still, this day is an important reminder to reflect, raise awareness, and spark discussions that can lead to lasting change. These conversations are, of course, just one step in fostering a more equitable and inclusive workplace – one where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Today we celebrate our women’s team: Gloria, Catherine and Monique!

Last week we were for a few days at our main office in Hamburg for a calibration training with the quality team!

We had a great exchange, we learned from each other and we explored new tools and strategies for our coffee labs.

We even got to see some snow in the city and enjoy the view of the Coffee Plaza across the port! Thank you for having us! ☕️♥️

Our Quality Workshop 2024 in Veracruz, Mexico, was an absolute hit! 🌟 We’re leaving with sharper skills, big plans for the future, and..., already missing the tacos and sunshine 🌮☀️.

A huge shoutout to our incredible team from around the globe for making this week unforgettable. From sensory calibrations to exploring Robusta’s untapped potential, we tackled it all!
