We would like to introduce Karl-Martin Holzhäuser, who is represented with the work "Montage 44.2008" in the Generative Photography Drop on the occasion of Paris Photo.
Karl Martin Holzhäuser studied with Generative Photography co-founder Kilian Breier at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg and began teaching photography at Fachhochschule Bielefeld in 1970. In 1975, he was appointed a fellow professor for photography alongside Gottfried Jäger. Jäger and Holzhäuser released “Generative Fotografie” with an introduction by Herbert W. Franke the same year. This book covered all the photographic techniques of the day, some of which are gone. It also included generative photography artists and laid the theoretical groundwork. From 1965 until 1972, he created “mechano optical examinations” as an artist.
Holzhäuser is a photography pioneer due to his creative approaches. His abstract, minimalist work has been exhibited worldwide and lauded. Holzhäuser's timeless paintings will be presented in a new and interesting way for collectors. Holzhäuser's use of NFTs is marking a new era of artistic expression by integrating technology into art. Holzhäuser's shift to this new media shows his continuous relevance and value, and collectors can own a piece of his heritage. A glimpse into the future of art and technology, the NFT will delight collectors and admirers.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase the history of generative photography in a special exhibition at this year's prestigious Paris Photo event, alongside esteemed partners Scheublein Fine Art, Georg Bak, and Photo Edition Berlin.
------
Generative Photography represents the captivating confluence of art and technology! 📸 Beginning in the 1960s, pioneers like Herbert W. Franke revolutionized the artistic landscape by fusing rational physics, mathematics, and photographic experiments to craft innovative visual art. His oscillograms stand as a vibrant testament to the exquisite beauty that emerges at the crossroads of science and creativity.
As we delve deeper into the rich tapestry of art history, we encounter other influential figures such as Gottfried Jäger, a maestro whose vision and expertise were instrumental in shaping the trajectory of generative photography. 🎨 In 1968, Jäger not only introduced the term but also established its foundational principles, seamlessly blending art, science, and technology in ways that were utterly groundbreaking. His contributions have paved the way for subsequent generations, transforming photography into a realm brimming with boundless possibilities.

PRE-DROP
We are thrilled to announce the much-anticipated drop by the internationally acclaimed German photographer and digital art pioneer Michael Reisch, going tomorrow, 25th May, at 6 pm CEST, exclusively on elementum.
Since the 1990s, Michael Reisch has been working on the relationship between photography and digitality. His oeuvre is perceived and exhibited in various contexts, such as photography-based digital art, generative photography and generative art, post-photography, and post-digital discourses. His pioneering work combines aspects of photography and sculpture with new digital imaging techniques like AI/GANs, AR, 3D scanning, and printing. He is founder of the darktaxa-project — a manifest, book, and exhibition project exploring the boundaries of photography.
Through an exclusive collection of Reisch's latest corpus of work, the upcoming NFT drop, curated by Georg Bak, offers a glimpse into the evolving intersection of technology and artistic expression, as well as the exploration of the photographic medium's boundaries under digital conditions. At the same time, it challenges and redefines our understanding of photography and digital art.
🔶🔷 "Ohne Titel (Untitled) 22_002_g" by Michael Reisch is created using Machine Learning / GAN. The artist trained the AI with images of his previous artworks; on this basis, the AI tries to create new shapes, colors, and designs for future images and objects.
📆 Mark your calendars and get your wallets ready for Michael Reisch’s NFT drop, exclusively on elementum, tomorrow at 6 pm.
