The mission of this project is to develop and maintain a universal database of aeronautical data, in order to facilitate the rendering of high quality VFR
The database is administered by the open flightmaps association, or OFMA, a “not for profit” organization constituted especially for this purpose, which has the support of two universities and several associations of pilots and other organizations within the General Aviation community The structure of the OFMA database closely follows the AIXM Model recommended by Eurocontrol. 🗺️ New Cover Design for Our Charts!
As of last week, our sectional charts feature a refreshed cover design.
For the German charts, we’ve also added a mapsplit - a clear overview of all individual map sections for easier navigation.

Openflightmaps at AERO Friedrichshafen 2025
We are pleased to announce that the openflightmaps project will be exhibiting at AERO Friedrichshafen 2025. You can find us at Hall A6, Stand 324 from April 9-12, 2025 where we will be showcasing our aeronautical charts for VFR flights.
