How can we guarantee safety at high speeds? 🤔

Our team members, Jil Zerndt and Dominic Odermatt, tackled this question in their Bachelor’s thesis and presented the team’s findings at the Embedded Computing Conference 2026 at the

In their thesis, they first completely redesigned the Vehicle Control Unit and then expanded the redesign and implementation to create a Real-Time Safety Critical Distributed Vehicle Control System (VCS) with Zephyr. Including Zephyr in our VCS means that possible issues can be predicted and recognised more quickly than ever before. 🔥

Consequently, we can guarantee safe driving at high speeds through multi-layered safety measures, such as redundant timeout and data validity checks or priority inversion protection. This ensures that our car runs smoothly and safely. 🏎️
