This was an informal rehearsal backstage at the Jodhpur RIFF with SAZ Trio from Rajasthan.
I first saw them play a few years ago when they won the Aga Khan Music Award, and we had the chance to perform together this year in Qatar.
This trip to India was really special for me — I felt so happy in Jodhpur, loved playing with their music, and I’m super excited that they’ll be coming to Geneva to my class later this year.
- Jodhpur RIFF is an annual, international roots music festival, timed to coincide with Sharad Purnima, the brightest full moon of the year in north India. Now in its 18th year, the Festival presents a series of spectacular concerts and events based in and around Mehrangarh Fort, under the aegis of the Mehrangarh Museum Trust. A not-for-profit festival, Jodhpur RIFF aspires to positively impact the livelihood of the traditional performers of Rajasthan.
