Ready for another training exercise? 👀

This exercise is designed to improve one of the most important skills in show jumping: adjustability.

The goal is to ride the same 15-meter line using different numbers of strides, helping both horse and rider develop:

✔ Control and balance
✔ Adjustability of the canter
✔ Responsiveness to the aids
✔ Accuracy in maintaining the chosen distance
✔ Better communication between horse and rider

By alternating 4, 5 or 6 strides in the same line, riders learn to lengthen or shorten the canter without losing rhythm or straightness, while horses become more attentive, balanced and rideable.

It may look simple, but mastering this exercise builds the flexibility and control needed to adapt to different situations on course.

Will you give it a try? Let us know how it goes! 👇

The FEI Jumping European Championships for Young Riders have come to an end, bringing with them days of great sport, determination and valuable experience.

Every championship is made of challenges, lessons and moments that help shape the riders of tomorrow. We are proud to have seen our YRA riders competing among Europe’s best, with all of them finishing within the top 15 individually. A result that reflects the level, consistency and commitment they have shown throughout the week.

A special congratulations also goes to Team Netherlands for claiming the European team title, with two members of the YRA Team 2026, Nick Nanning and Thijmen Vos, contributing to this fantastic achievement. 🇳🇱👏

To every rider, horse, coach and supporter: thank you for another unforgettable championship. The journey continues, and we’re excited to see what comes next.

The best part of YRA? The people you meet along the way.

Between lectures, team challenges and long conversations, some of the most valuable moments happened away from the classroom. Because the friendships built during these days are just as important as the lessons learned.

Different countries, different journeys, one shared passion for our sport. 💙

Here’s to the memories we’ve made in Lugano… and to many more still to come. See you in Sweden! 🇸🇪

IMPULSION FIRST. DISTANCE SECOND.

One of the biggest mistakes riders make is chasing the distance.

When the horse loses impulsion through the turn, the rider often feels forced to push in the last few strides just to “get there.” That’s when balance, rhythm, and confidence start to disappear.

As Franke Sloothaak explains, impulsion isn’t about speed. It’s about creating enough energy and engagement that the horse naturally takes you to the fence, allowing you to stay patient and wait for the jump.

✅ Prepare the canter before the line.
✅ Let the horse carry you to the fence.
✅ Wait instead of chasing.

A horse with correct impulsion stays balanced, connected, and much easier to keep together all the way to the jump.
