Created at the 78th Festival d’Avignon in July, Juana ficción is on tour in Geneva and Madrid in September. La Ribot returns to the story of Juana I de Castilla, the captive and overshadowed queen of Spain’s golden age, in collaboration with conductor Asier Puga, with original music composed by Iñaki Estrada. Juana ficción combines dance and music, technology and raw natural elements in a performance guided by the movement of the sun until darkness.

Max Estrella presents LaBOLA Desborda, La Ribot’s second solo exhibition at the gallery. Invited at the Museo del Prado for the inaugural events of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, La Ribot presented her performance LaBOLA in the iconic temple of classical art. During this action, a series of photographs were taken and are now exhibited to the public for the first time in this show.

Through photography, dance merges with painting, and painting merges with dance. In the words of art historian Jean-François Chevrier, “never before has it been shown with such splendor how dance, the art of movement par excellence, can encounter the language of gestures in classical painting.”
