Face à la montée des discours de haine, l’ONU mise sur les chefs traditionnels Les génocides ne commencent pas par des massacres. Ils commencent par des mots. Des mots qui divisent, qui désignent des ennemis, qui déshumanisent. Des mots qui circulent d'abord dans les conversations, puis sur les réseaux sociaux, avant parfois de dégénérer en violences bien réelles.

📢The Arctic Council Indigenous Peoples’ Secretariat is seeking temporary full-time position Indigenous Youth Coordinator!
❗️ The deadline for receipt of applications is 21 June 2026.
The Youth Coordinator of the Arctic Council Indigenous
Peoples’ Secretariat (IPS) is responsible for:
- Assist with Indigenous youth participation in the work of the Arctic Council and Permanent Participants’ capacity-building
- Facilitate coordination of the Permanent Participants’ Youth Network
- Assist with Indigenous youth participation in relevant events, such as the Arctic Youth Conference 2027
- Contribute to fundraising and project proposal development relevant to the work of the Permanent Participants and Permanent Participant youth in the Arctic Council
- Prepare relevant reports, briefs and background papers for the six Arctic Council Permanent Participants
- Contribute to IPS outreach and communication
- Assist the IPS Executive Secretary with relevant daily administrative routines.

🌍 Join our first Prep Training for COP17 of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD)
We are honored to invite Indigenous leaders, pastoralists, youth, and allies to the first of two virtual training sessions focused on the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in preparation for the upcoming COP17.
Desertification, land degradation, and drought directly threaten the territories, ecosystems, and living heritage that Indigenous Peoples have protected for generations. This session is designed to sharpen the strategic engagement and advocacy of Indigenous Peoples within the UNCCD mechanisms, key decisions, and political opportunities.
This training also highlights the UN International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP 2026), opening a critical window to center the rights and needs of pastoral and Indigenous Peoples globally.

Responses to Ebola must be guided by international standards relating to the rights of Indigenous Peoples, including their rights to health, equal protection and cultural identity. The particular vulnerability of Indigenous Peoples to this epidemic must be recognised and integrated into response strategies.
These communities, whose way of life is mobile, depend closely on their territories and natural resources for their subsistence, identity and well-being. Moreover, their limited access to health services makes them particularly exposed to this epidemic.
