Behind the brick walls of the iconic Werkraum Warteck pp lies a 160-square-meter sanctuary dedicated to the beauty of slow, physical production: Druckwerk druckwerk Basel.

Tomorrow morning, this is where we gather.

Founded as an open, non-profit workshop association in 2016, Druckwerk is a working laboratory where historic printmaking crafts meet contemporary artistic experimentation. Walk through the doors and you are surrounded by real mechanical weight: vintage letterpress drawers full of lead type, stone lithography slabs, etching baths, and heavy relief presses that have spent decades rolling ink onto paper.

Printmaking isn’t preserved behind glass here. It is used, touched, and kept alive every single day by a passionate community of local artists, printmakers, and curious creators.

For our theme CURRENT, we couldn’t imagine a better setting to step away from screens and ground ourselves in the tangible, ink-stained craft of making by hand.

If you grabbed a ticket, remember to wear something you don't mind getting a stray smudge of ink on!

Our September theme is CURRENT. While modern life moves at the breakneck speed of the latest digital refresh, there is another kind of current: the physical pull of a craft that demands patience, touch, and presence.

This month, we are stepping right into that rhythm.

Join us at druckwerk Basel inside Werkraum Warteck pp for an intimate morning talk and hands-on printmaking workshop with acclaimed artist Lucinda Tanner Lucinda Tanner.

Celebrated for her monumental, intricate woodblock prints, Lucinda looks to the print workshop as a restorative antidote to modern screen fatigue. After an introduction to her craft, you will roll up your sleeves on the workshop floor to experiment directly with hand-printing methods, playing with color, typography, layering, and transparency.

Come for the warm coffee and morning bites, stay for the smell of fresh ink.
