Welcome Prof. Dr. Yongmei Zheng

🎓 PrYongmei Zheng, PhD, is a professor at worked at Key Laboratory of Bio-Inspired Smart Interfacial Science and Technology of Ministry of Education, School of Chemistry, Beihang University.
Research interests are focused on bioinspired surfaces and materials with micro- and nanostructures to control wettability for fog-harvesting, tiny droplet transport, water harvesting, anti-icing/ice-phobicity, etc.

She is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), Fellow Member of An International association of Advanced Materials (FIAAM), Member of Chinese Composite Materials Society (CSCM) and International Society of Bionic Engineering (ISBE), Editorial board member of Scientific Report in Nature. Section Editor-in-Chief of Biomimetics: Bioinspired surfaces and interfaces.

Welcome Prof. Jie Deng

🎓 Prof. Jie Deng is a professor of the School of Mechatronics Engineering at the Harbin Institute of Technology. He is also a member of the State Key Laboratory of Robotics and System at Harbin Institute of Technology.
He has diverse research interests, but primarily with focuses on applications of piezoelectric materials and bionic robots. Much of his work has been in the fields of piezoelectric motors, ultrasonic motors, micro-nano manipulations, nano-positioning and vibration controls.
In addition, he is interested in micro-nano manipulation robots and biomimetic robots. A lot of devices, both piezoelectric devices and robot prototypes have been developed. He has published one monograph and over 80 papers, over 50 papers have been published on international journals. He has applied nearly 30 invention patents, over 10 patents have been granted.

🎓 Prof. Nikola K Kasabov is a Life Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, Fellow of the INNS College of Fellows, DVF of the Royal Academy of Engineering UK. He has Doctor Honoris Causa from Obuda University, Budapest. He is the Founding Director of KEDRI and Professor Emeritus at the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand.
His main research interests are in the areas of neural networks, intelligent information systems, soft computing, neuroinformatics, spiking neural networks. He has published more than 750 publications, highly cited internationally. He has extensive academic experience at various academic and research organisations in Europe and Asia.

🎓 Stanislav Gorb is Professor and Director at the Zoological Institute of the Kiel University, Germany. He received his PhD degree in zoology and entomology at the Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in Kiev (Ukraine).
Prof. Gorb’s research focuses on morphology, structure, biomechanics, physiology, and evolution of surface-related functional systems in animals and plants, as well as the development of biologically inspired technological surfaces and systems.
