✨Spotlight on... Skate It Yourself
✨
Skate it Yourself provides skateboard lessons and parties for 5-19 year olds at venues in Huddersfield and Halifax. Set up by keen skateboarder Kierhardy Ansell, SIY inspires young people to take up skateboarding and improve skills in a fun and engaging way.
Creating the idea for the business in his late teens, Hardy took the plunge in his second year at the University of Huddersfield and applied for Enterprise Placement Year 2018/19 which allowed him to turn his dreams into a reality. A start-up grant allowed him to purchase skateboards and further funding enabled him to acquire pads, helmets and ramps.
Hardy was runner-up in the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards 2019 and received ÂŁ15,000 seed funding and a fully paid intern.
Opening up his own skatepark where he can host classes and provide access to the public for extra revenue is part of his future ambitions for the business. Plans also include opening up a shop selling skateboarding gear, as well as his own bespoke merchandise.

✨ Spotlight on... CookingwithFeem
✨
Cookingwithfeem, is a bakery founded by Feem Patel in 2023 alongside his English degree. CookingwithFeem prides its self in baking the best brownies and San Sebastian cheesecakes one can find.
CookingwithFeem was born from a love of cooking/baking since he was a child. Being the youngest of 5 siblings, it meant that he was always in the kitchen with his mum. Years down the line Feem started experimenting with different foods which opened his horizons. With encouragement from friends and family Feem opened a his social media page since he would always send pics to the family group chat. And the rest is history!
It all started from home, and Feem is currently planning on opening a unit soon. With support from the University and Enterprise Team, Feem sold savoury food such as Biryani and pakoras along with the signature brownie on the university campus through it's 'Supper Club' initiative! Supper Club was a major success and gave me the momentum to hit over a thousand followers and create enough revenue to start upgrading equipment from home.
