In Loving Memory of Joan Ledoux
It is with profound sadness that Louis Riel College mourns the passing of Joan Ledoux, a remarkable leader, advocate, and cherished member of our Red River Métis community.
Joan believed deeply in the power of education. Throughout her many years of service with the Manitoba Métis Federation, she worked tirelessly to create opportunities for Red River Métis Citizens and was an important part of the story and growth of Louis Riel College.
She believed in what this College could become. She supported its growth, celebrated its students, and took tremendous pride in every milestone along the way. Her leadership, encouragement, and unwavering belief in education helped shape LRC into the College it is today.
For those fortunate enough to know Joan personally, her legacy extends far beyond her accomplishments. She will be remembered for her warmth, her humour, her kindness, and the genuine care she showed to those around her. She was a mentor, a friend, and someone who held a very special place in the hearts of our LRC family.
Joan's impact will continue to be felt in every student who walks through our doors, every graduate who discovers what they are capable of, and every opportunity created through education.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will remain a part of Louis Riel College for generations to come.
Rest peacefully, Joan. Thank you for believing in our students, in the power of education, and in Louis Riel College. ❤️
