We are so proud of our student, Kacia, who won the grant from Asign.
Congratulations to Kacia Beaulieu, this year’s recipient of the IBPOC Student Interpreter Grant. 🎉
At Asign, we are proud to support emerging interpreters who bring diverse experiences, perspectives, and a commitment to strengthening the interpreting profession and the communities we serve.
Kacia shared what receiving this grant means to her:
“I’d like to sincerely thank Asign for their generous support. Receiving this grant as an Indigenous student means more to me than I can put into words.
My father was Deaf and Indigenous, pursuing ASL interpretation has always felt deeply meaningful to me, and it is an honour to continue this path while contributing to greater representation within our field.
I am heading finishing up my first year in the AEIP Red River College this week, and this support both motivated and allows me to continue working hard in my studies.
Once more, thank you, Asign!”
Congratulations, Kacia! We are honoured to support your journey and look forward to seeing the contributions you will continue to make within the interpreting community.
The School of Community Service at Red River College Polytech is currently seeking to hire an ASL- English Instructor. Please review the attached document for more information if you are interested.
