Hello SpeechWorks treats complex communication disorders such as Aphas We can help you communicate!
We help people with aphasia, dysarthria, cognitive-communication impairments, social language impairments and demential. We have services in Winnipeg, Selkirk and the Interlake, Steinbach, La Broquerie and south-eastern Manitoba. We provide Telehealth services to all of Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut.
Here are some amazing tips to help survive the holidays from our wonderful StoryTelling participants, volunteers and staff!
1. You don't have to do it all at once. Keep it simple and enjoy the fun of the day.
2. Spend some time alone, especially on Christmas Day.
3. Get lots of exercise outside.
4. Don't cook the huge meal.
5. Give money instead of a present.
6. Save stuff for next year.
7. Schedule a nap.
8. Reassign, delegate and share tasks .
9. Put up decorations and sing a Christmas song
10. Give back. Do a donation or participate in a local food drive. Stick to a budget.
11. Just get over it. Don’t feel stressed. Do what you want to do.
12. Get someone else to pick a gift for a loved one.
13. Reach out, acknowledge your feelings, plan ahead, get sunlight, and reduce expectations.
In LOUD Crowd! we discussed using intentional communication outside the group. Here are some pointers to keep in mind:
1. Know what “intentional communication” means to you.
2. Pick a time to speak intentionally every day.
3. Give yourself a happy face.
