10 boxes of shoes headed into community. ππ A huge thank you to Canadian Footwear for another generous donation supporting Linking Hope and our agency partners across Winnipeg.
Nicholas picked up 10 boxes of shoes this week, and theyβll be moving quickly out to frontline agencies supporting people who need them most.
Footwear is one of those essentials that can easily be overlooked β but having proper shoes impacts comfort, dignity, mobility, work, school, and daily life.
Weβre grateful to partners like Canadian Footwear who continue to lean in and help us make sure needed items get where they are needed most.
Community partnerships like this make a real difference. π

Today we honour and remember the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People.
Across our country β and here in our own community β there are families, loved ones, and Nations carrying loss, grief, and unanswered questions. Today is a day to pause, to reflect, and to listen.
At Linking Hope, we stand alongside our Indigenous partners, colleagues, and relatives β recognizing that this is not just a day of awareness, but a call to action. A call to continue learning, to support Indigenous-led work, and to help build a community rooted in dignity, safety, and respect for all.
We wear red.
We remember.
We stand together.

π International Womenβs Day β Give to Gain π
Today we celebrate the many women who lift our community forward.
Over the past months, Linking Hope has been fortunate to work alongside extraordinary women β leaders, volunteers, agency partners, donors, and community champions β who embody this yearβs theme of Give to Gain.
These women give their time, talent, compassion, and leadership so that others can thrive. When women lean in to support one another and their communities, the ripple effects are powerful.
The photos here show just a few of the incredible women who have impacted Linking Hope recently. There are so many more whose contributions we deeply value β we simply donβt have photos of everyone.
To all the women showing up, building community, and creating opportunity for others: we see you, and we are grateful.
When women rise, communities rise.

Teamwork in Action π
This week, community came together in the best way. Through a partnership between Bear Clan Patrol and Linking Hope, sports equipment made its way into the hands of students at Elmwood High School β creating more opportunities for youth to play, connect, and be part of a team.
Moments like this remind us that real impact happens when organizations work together. Bear Clan continues to show up for community every day, and we are incredibly grateful for their partnership, leadership, and commitment to youth and neighbourhoods across Winnipeg.
A huge thank you as well to our corporate partners Home Run Sports and OneTEAM Sports Group, whose generosity makes initiatives like this possible. Their support helps ensure that equipment doesnβt sit in warehouses β it reaches young people who can use it, learn from it, and grow through sport.
When community organizations, businesses, and grassroots leaders come together, great things happen.
Because teamwork isnβt just for the field β itβs how we build stronger communities. π

What a night celebrating 40 Years of Heart Work with Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre β an agency partner we deeply value. π
Linking Hope was honoured to attend the 40th Anniversary Gala on February 26, celebrating four decades of care, advocacy, and community leadership in Winnipeg. Established in 1984, Ma Mawi truly is a Grandmother among organizations β grounded in culture, strength, and the belief that families and communities already hold the wisdom they need. Their name says it best: βwe all work together to help one another.β
A special highlight of the evening was celebrating Spatch β who received a recognition award for over 30 years of unwavering support for Ma Mawi and our broader community. His commitment to youth, families, and grassroots connection has quietly shaped so much of the work happening across our city.
And the music? Incredible. πΆ
Spatch and his band O Prairie Sky brought the room to life alongside Grand Chief Settee. It was powerful, joyful, and deeply rooted β a reminder that culture, music, and community are inseparable from healing and heart work.
We are so proud to walk alongside partners like Ma Mawi β and so grateful for leaders like Spatch who continue to show up, year after year.
Congratulations on 40 extraordinary years. π
