Some snapshots from tonight’s Steeped in Light: Solstice Tea Blending and Breathwork experience!

It was a full house of curious attendees. We settled in to get to know a carefully selected team of plant allies, utilizing all senses and somatic inklings. Each attendee was invited to blend a tea from the perspective of relationship based on the plants that stood out to them, using a guided recipe.

Then we settled into a restorative breath practice utilizing somatic tools to unwind and connect with the inner landscape.

The sun joined in at just the right time, filtering through the gallery windows for some added vibes.

Thanks to all who joined! Already inspired for the next version of this event ✨

My treatment space is one of the safest places I know.

I often tell people that the ground here has weathered so much, it’s not going anywhere, anytime soon as part of an invitation into being held here.

The literal building and foundations it rests on have a long history too, and generations of prayer and ceremony walked into the floors.

The environments in which we meet ourselves are as powerful as the facilitators and supports that sit with us.

Every day I feel so honoured to get to co-facilitate with this space and the nature that holds it 🙏

Happy Tuesday, friends. 🌱

I’ve been ignited by nettle medicine this week- read all about it on the stack ✌️

My style of somatic based work generally doesn’t appeal to those seeking to “release” things in a get-rid-of way.

Nor does it appeal to those seeking a dose of catharsis in their first session.

Somatic work, in my practice, involves coming back into relationship (or discovering) with ourselves, our bodies, in a new way.

Like any relationship, that’s not always easy, simple or without nuance.

In order to resolve and integrate our lived experiences, sensations and emotions inclusive, we also need to be in relationship with them. That’s where possibility lives 🐝

Perspective.

One, more focused view can be good. Beautiful in its own way.

Another, wider and less focused view holds a different appeal.

We need both, in healing and transformative work. The zoomed in, focused awareness and the wider, big picture view.

Framing things in a way that supports zoomed in, focused navigation of life’s experiences, big and small, while also keeping the big picture centred in awareness is a key aspect of what I do.

Getting to do that surrounded by nature right out the window is a huge blessing ✨

We’ve been led to believe that the best things in life can only happen for us if we work hard, fix all our faults and check the boxes off.

One of the most challenging things to live into is that this isn’t, generally, true.

Yes, often we do need to engage in challenge, adversity and put effort in.

And- our ability to do that isn’t inherently the difference maker in many cases.

When we internalize the standards the external culture perpetuates, we forget to acknowledge all the ways in which our health/worth or contentment actually have very little to do with checking boxes.

Root into seasonal herbalism and nervous system care with an evening offering space to soften, ground and gently expand into a new season.

We’ll begin with a warm herbal tea and a quiet arrival into the space before moving into simple and accessbile practices to settle into our bodies and open our awareness from the inside out.

From there you’ll be guided through a hands-on tea blending experience, exploring a curated selection of seasonal herbs. You will be invited to come into relationship with the plants, learning their flavours, qualities and traditional uses as you create your own custom blend to take home.

We’ll close with a guided body-based integration practice, with space for reflection, journal prompts and time to simply rest.

What’s included:
• A cup of herbal tea to sip as you arrive
• Guided herbal tea blending with 5–8 herbs to work with.
• Your own custom tea blend to take home (approx. 20 servings)
• A facilitated introspective breathwork and somatics practice
• A gentle unwind and grounding integration practice

This experience is for anyone feeling the pull to slow down, reconnect with their body, and enjoy a meaningful, restorative evening.

No prior experience is needed.

Pricing:
$65 + GST/ Individual Ticket
$115 + GST/ Two Ticket Special (bring a friend, a loved one or a date!)

Spots are limited to keep the experience intimate. Email [email protected] to register or message me here!

Yeah, life is busy and full of inconveniences, unexpecteds, pains and endless stuff to get done… but as you’re doing all that, take a chance to notice the birds, the sun, the wind, the breath.

The antidote to being a victim to urgency in noticing the space between and within the things we are already doing.

Wellness exists within the life you’re already living. Awareness is the difference maker.
