hoping everyone in the elements can stay safe & warm. Around here that means lots of fresh water, hay, and bedding. Tonight we might slap some blankets on a couple of the horses as an extra precaution. Please remember that if you’re using heat lamps they need to be secure from animals hitting them. This is the season for accidental fires so please use them carefully. Try to keep lamps away from any bedding - when bulbs shatter they can ignite the material around them. Dry and draft-free is always the best approach to keeping critters warm. Make sure you’re taking care of you, too. 🤍

Hello friends! Here is our ornament for the 2024 season!! I know it’s not traditionally fibre focused, but I wanted this year to be a tribute to our equines at The Raspberry Roost. We have 7 horses and ponies that call our farm home. They’ve come to us in a variety of situations, but all have a soft place to land. This year’s ornament is an up-cycled aluminum horse shoe! All of the shoes are from horses at the race track. This is a nod to our Maggie, who is a retired race horse. The shoe is hung with yarn from our farm. It’s a simple yet beautiful piece. Each shoe tells a story as they are all unique. All proceeds from these will go towards our horses’ hay bill which is approximately $2500 for the winter. This ornament is available for a “pay-what-you-like” cost. $5? $10? Whatever you like!

I cannot offer shipping at this time. So local to Winnipeg is my only option this year. I can offer delivery, pick-up at the farm or I can also meet folks downtown! 🤍
