Friends of Levigator Press, we're sorry to say that Levigator Press will soon be calling it quits on this and every other site owned by Meta. I don't think I need to tell you why. I'm still teaching classes, but they take place at Asil now and you can keep tabs on all the fun stuff we're offering over there. I'm going to make an effort to revive the weblog at levigatorpress.ca even though that's no longer how we internet. It will hurt my business, yes, but escaping the toxic climate of this website is more important.
To continue keeping tabs on Levigator Press, you can follow the studio weblog at levigatorpress.ca, follow our upcoming class listings at asil.ca or on the asil page, or follow me on bluesky .bsky.social (my personal account). We'll be around here a few more days but I'm essentially done posting anything here or on Instagram.
I'm grateful for your support and hope to see you all on the flipside. We're all going to be healthier and happier there.

There is still some room in our upcoming Trace Monotype Class!
Join us on Monday, January 15th from 6:30 until 8:30pm.
Trace Monotype is an easy and beautiful method for creating a mix of bold and delicate lines in your one-of-a-kind prints. It’s very responsive to the artist’s hand, giving a rich atmospheric quality to the image. In this class you will learn how to specially prepare oil based ink for trace monotype, and will create at least one beautiful print on Japanese paper.
This workshop is presented by asil and Levigator Press on Monday, January 15th from 6:30 until 8:30 and will take place in the asil studio at 518 Chilver Road, Windsor. Registration is required; please visit https://asil.ca/shop/trace-monotype to secure your spot!
The cost is $40 plus $5 materials fee
Depending on the complexity of your image, you may have time to make more than one print.
Trace monotype, as its name suggests, uses tracing, so you don’t have to be able to draw! Please bring printouts or photocopies of source material; such as a specific photo or image you wish to work from (NOT originals; these will be ruined in the monotype process!). Your finished image will be the reverse of your source image so please consider that when making your copy. We will also have plenty of source material available for you to choose from

Here's a pleasing 9-patch grid of some of my recently completed moon drawings, tiny 20x20cm (8x8")quilts of naturally dyed cotton and linen, quilted with naturally dyed sashiko thread and bound with ecoprinted linen tape. You can see them now at asil in beautiful Walkerville (asil.ca)

We're all set up for tonight's Share and Swap at The Mending Room! Please join us this evening from 6-9 to check out the exhibition, talk about quilts and sustainable art practice, and take home some free art and craft supplies donated by other artists. This swap is meant to get supplies into the hands of people who will use them, and you don't need to have donated anything in order to take something home. We're astounded at the generosity of the people who donated and excited to see what you'll create!
The Mending Room Share & Swap is at , 1942 Wyandotte Street East in Windsor. We look forward to seeing you!
