āIt is hard for a liberal person to think that we have to limit other peopleās freedoms, so that our freedom will be protected. But thatās where we are right now.ā
ā Israeli Ambassador to Canada.
It is difficult for any liberal minded person to accept that a country consistently committing war crimes is now demanding Canada curb its freedoms to silence dissent, and to accept that outrage at Israel is nothing more than antisemitism. But this is where we are right now.

Right after Doug Ford lost a court battle related to access to government records, his government moved to change Ontarioās freedom-of-information rules.
If everything were above board, why hide records, risk public funds, and block accountability?
What other shady deals is this government keeping from Ontarians?

Nancy Grewal deserved safety, dignity, and justice. Her assassination demands a full and transparent investigation. Communities must be able to speak and organize without fear of violence.

Al-Quds Day has been observed around the world since 1979 as a day of solidarity with Palestinians and with Jerusalem under occupation.
Doug Fordās lazy attempt to ban protests wonāt erase the reality of occupation. It only exposes the fear of those in power.

In 1962, officials in the U.S. Department of Defense drafted a secret plan called Operation Northwoods.
The proposal? Stage terror attacks and blame them on Cuba to justify war.
The plan included sinking refugee boats, blowing up a U.S. ship, and staging the destruction of a civilian airliner. Some proposals explicitly contemplated harming U.S. civilians to manufacture outrage.
It was approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff and presented to President John F. Kennedy, who ultimately rejected it.
The documents remained secret for decades before being declassified in the late 1990s.
And remember: this is just one proposal that was eventually declassified.
Much more likely remains hidden ā and the public has no way of knowing whether similar plans continue to be drawn up behind closed doors.
Today, the administration of Donald Trump continues escalating pressure on Cuba, tightening the decades-long blockade and deterring other countries from supplying oil through tariffs and economic coercion. The result is a deepening energy crisis that affects electricity, hospitals, food systems, and daily life across the island.

The recent documents obtained by CBC News have shattered the governmentās claim that Canadian weapons are not reaching Israel. For two years, ministers publicly insisted that āno arms are being sent to Israel,ā yet internal records show they were warned otherwise.
Canadian weapons are still reaching war zones ā and civilians, including children, are paying the price. Parliament will vote on Bill C-233 on March 11. This bill would close the loophole allowing weapons to flow through the U.S.
