As many of you know, I started First Route after seeing far too many preventable collisions involving young drivers. My goal has always been simple: help new drivers become safe, confident, and prepared for the road ahead.

At First Route, you’ll learn from a current police officer and Former Windsor driving examiners, along with experienced instructors who genuinely care about your success.

This past weekend, another fantastic group of students took the first step toward becoming safe, confident, and responsible drivers.

Our classroom was full of engaged students learning the rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, collision avoidance strategies, and the knowledge needed to build a strong foundation behind the wheel.

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back for Weekend #2, where we’ll continue building on the skills and concepts introduced this weekend.

Our Windsor location has officially been approved. 

First Route Driving School will be opening our Windsor location, with classes starting this June. We’re excited to finally get things running full-time in the city.

Also, a big thank you to everyone — our Tecumseh class starting next weekend is already completely sold out. Your support continues to be incredible.

If you want your child to learn more than just the basic rules of the road, and actually understand traffic laws, criminal offences, and what police look for on the road every day, this is the course for them.

We’re almost there 👊

The new First Route Driving School location at 2521 Dougall ave in Windsor is just about ready to go. Everything is set — we’re just waiting on final approval from MTO.

Can’t wait to open up in this part of Windsor near the DriveTest centre.

As a current police officer, our students don’t just learn the rules of the road — they also learn real traffic laws and relevant criminal laws that apply to driving.

As soon as we get the green light, classes will be starting right away. Hopefully very soon 🤞

One sign is officially up at our new location near the Drivetest Center for First Route Driving School. Hoping to get the front sinage up early next week

Meet our newest team member…
Jane — age 9. Strict. No nonsense. Already judging your parallel parking. I’m trying to get her trained up to teach some of my in class. 

We’re excited about the progress and hoping to be fully open by the end of March.

We have had a couple parents ask if we could put together a Zoom Q&A session covering policing and Driver’s Ed topics, so I’m just checking to see if there’s some interest in the future.

We could talk about things like traffic stops, common charges, what officers look for on the road, new driver tips, and I could answer any Driver’s Ed questions you or your teen might have.
