Wednesday marked our 2nd of 6 weeks of Fitness Classes with Bucciachio Counselling and Fitness! We started with a warmup of jumping jacks, running in place and skipping. We used resistance bands to work our back with seated rows and deadlifts. We used agility ladders and sensory tiles to practice footwork and coordination. We launched medicine balls as hard into the ground as we could and then finished the day with a little boxing. šŸ’Ŗ
Is it easy? Not so much. But guess what? We’re learning WE CAN DO hard things!!! ā¤ļø Peter J Bucciachio

Cooking Class #6 focused on cooking without heat so we made vegan spring rolls and pudding cake cups! We have very much enjoyed our time with Chef Cheryl of Cooking Classes with Coffyn Piez and plan to see her again! ā¤ļø

Cooking Class #4 was all about creativity in the kitchen! This week, we focused on making the most of what you already have on hand—turning simple fridge and pantry ingredients into something delicious. We whipped up quick and tasty stacked tortillas, and paired them with warm, comforting cornbread for a snack worth slowing down and savouring.

A great reminder that good food doesn’t have to be complicated—it just takes a little creativity! šŸ’›

šŸŽ‰ Join Us For Something New This Spring!!!!FITNESS EDITION! šŸŽ‰

Freedom Respite Program is thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with Bucciachio Counselling & Fitness to provide a 6-week functional fitness program - thoughtfully designed for individuals with disabilities!

This program will be uniquely delivered through the expertise of Peter Bucciachio, a Registered Social Worker and Certified Personal Trainer — blending physical development with emotional support in a way that you won’t find in traditional programs. This isn’t just about fitness, it’s about the mind + body working together!

šŸ’Ŗ What that means for your loved one:• Safe, guided movement that builds real-life strength and mobility• Activities that support coordination, balance, and daily living skills• A focus on confidence, connection, and overall well-being• A supportive environment where each participant is understood and encouraged.

Through fun and engaging activities like agility ladders, mini hurdles, resistance bands, and dynamic movement, participants are not just exercising — they’re discovering what their bodies can do and building confidence in who they are.

šŸ’› Because the goal isn’t just about movement… it’s about growth. Growth in strength. Growth in independence. Growth in self-belief.

And most importantly — this is a program that stays with them. The skills they build, the confidence they gain, and the routines they learn are designed to carry over into everyday life, long after the 6 weeks are over.

ā“Every Wednesday from 11:30-12:15 - beginning May 20th through to June 24, 2026.

šŸ’²15.00 per session. Spots are limited to ensure each participant receives meaningful support and attention.

šŸ“© Message us today to learn more or reserve a spot — this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity you won’t want to miss.

Cooking Class #3 focused on Dinner and food for the soul…. Meat Pies! 🄧

Today, our participants created their own homemade meat pies—from mixing and rolling the dough to shaping each one by hand. They had the choice of savoury beef or roasted chicken, and the results were incredible!

To round out the meal, we also prepared a fresh garden salad—simple, healthy, and the perfect complement to our pies.

We’re especially grateful to be learning from the best—our amazing chef and instructor Cheryl, the owner of Coffyn Piez—who continues to share her expertise, passion, and love of cooking with our group each week.

Another delicious success and lots of proud smiles all around! Cheryl Abela Cooking Classes with Coffyn Piez
