Dear Tilly,

It has been almost one month since you left us, suddenly and unexpectedly. Your passing left us heartbroken - you were taken from us far too soon and far too young.

Today would have been your 4th Birthday. So, in your memory, we set aside our sorrow (of which there has been plenty) and celebrate all the ways that you touched our lives.

You were always the happiest girl - every day with you seemed like the “Best Day Ever!”. There was always that big smile on your face coupled with your boundless energy. You loved, and were loved by, everyone you encountered… every dog or person was a new best friend just waiting to be met!

You always made me chuckle when I picked you up to take you for your walks. The way you would sulk and hang your head as your harness was being put on you, like it was the most cruel and unusual punishment, only to joyously run to the car, tail wagging and jump in eagerly awaiting a treat and to go meet up with your pack mates. I was always happy to get the big hugs and face-washing kisses that you would give me on our return home after our walks!

The last day that we spent together, just you and I, playing chase with the rod and stuffed rodent on a string is a memory that I cherish - you were so happy, energetic and full of life.
Only days later you were gone.
Tilly, the afternoon pack walks are not the same without you… Merry, Winter and I miss you so much. Thank you for all the love and happiness that you shared, you made all our lives richer for your being part of them.

So happy to have had the chance to reconnect and spend some time with these two sweethearts this past two weeks.
