Your Whitby Firefighters were proud to take part in the annual Mayor and Council Golf Tournament in support of the Mayor’s Community Development Fund.

The Mayor’s Community Development Fund supports local organizations making a meaningful difference in Whitby, and we were grateful for the opportunity to take part in an event that gives back to the community we are so proud to serve.

Thank you to Mayor Elizabeth Roy, Council, organizers, sponsors and volunteers for putting together another great tournament!

 

At each IAFF Convention, we take time to honour and remember our fallen brothers and sisters from across the International who have passed away since the previous Convention.

This year, we proudly remember two of our own, Alan Marchand and William Pleshe.

We are grateful for their years of service and the impact they made on Local 2036 and the community of Whitby.

Thank you brothers for making the ultimate sacrifice, you will not be forgotten.

We stand alongside our friends at Durham Regional Police today and always.

Some projects mean more than bricks and stone.

The Whitby Firefighter Memorial is a place to honour the service and sacrifice of those who came before us, ensuring their legacy is never forgotten.

After more than a decade of work to bring this memorial to life, having leaders who understood its importance and helped move it forward made a meaningful difference.

Mayor Elizabeth Roy’s support helped turn a long standing vision into a permanent place of remembrance for Whitby’s firefighters, their families, and our community.

We’re proud to support a Mayor who recognizes the importance of honouring our past while continuing to stand behind those who serve Whitby today.

58th IAFF Convention: ‘All in.’ - IAFF IAFF delegates from across the United States and Canada will gather in Arlington, Texas, next week for the union’s 58th Convention.

Strong communities are built through collaboration.

Public safety is at its best when firefighters and municipal leaders work together with a shared goal, keeping residents safe today while planning for the future.

We've always appreciated having a Mayor who takes the time to have meaningful conversations and stays connected to the people serving Whitby every day.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, together we raised over $11,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Today, we were honoured to present the cheque to Whitby’s Muscular Dystrophy Canada representative, Lauren DeRoche, but this achievement belongs to all of Whitby.

We are so incredibly proud to serve a community that is always willing to help out those in need.

Your generosity continues to inspire us every day, and your kindness will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy.

🥎 Play ball!

Today, your Whitby Firefighters traded hoses for ball gloves as A2 and B2 faced off in a friendly platoon vs. platoon softball showdown, with a few guest appearances from A1 to round out the roster.

After a competitive matchup of elite athleticism from both sides, B2 came away with the win... and, most importantly, ultimate bragging rights!

A big thank you to all the members who came out and took the field, and an even bigger thank you to the loved ones who filled the stands, and even made a few clutch plays when our teams needed them most!
