Tick season is here — and they’re already out in full force! 🕷️

This engorged tick was removed from one of our patients recently. While we tend to see more ticks in the warmer months, tick season is really year-round, which is why we recommend keeping pets on prevention all year long.

Year-round tick prevention is one of the best ways to protect your dog from tick-borne diseases. If your pet is due for prevention, give us a call! 🐾

🌸 Easter Warning: Lilies 🌸

​As we prepare for Easter celebrations and spring bouquets, please be aware that Lilies are highly toxic to cats!

​While they look stunning in a centerpiece, even a tiny amount of exposure can be life-threatening. Here is what every cat owner needs to know:

• ​Total Toxicity: All parts of the lily—the petals, leaves, stems, and even the pollen—are poisonous.

• ​The Water Matters: If a cat drinks the water from a vase containing lilies, it can cause acute kidney failure.

• ​A Tiny Amount is Too Much: Simply grooming a few grains of pollen off their fur can be enough to cause a medical emergency.

⚠️​ Symptoms to watch for ⚠️

- ​Vomiting
- ​Lethargy or hiding
- ​Loss of appetite
- ​Increased or decreased urination

​Timing is critical. If you suspect your cat has nibbled on a lily or come into contact with lily pollen, please contact us immediately.

​Let's keep our feline friends safe this spring! Consider "cat-safe" alternatives for your Easter table, like Easter Orchids, African Violets, or Roses!
