Finished this Great Horned Owl this morning! Burned on a nice slab of basswood. Was a tedious process but I love the way it turned out. This little guy will be available at the Apsley Autumn Studio Tour on September 20th and 21st!

Finished this one on walnut - "Breath of the Wild"
I wanted to create more of a collage style of burn, featuring a variety of species rather than just one! Includes a moose, lynx, gray wolf, whitetail deer, and a brown bear!
Will be available at the Apsley Autumn Studio Tour on the 20th and 21st of September!
Recent work on this new moose spotlight piece! Almost finished these two sections. Still have to add the background to the bottom scene, and then add some minor details to the big bull in the middle. Then onto the top third of the wood! This one is a big burn.

Started and finished a new burn this past week. I was able to get my hands on some old canoe paddles over the winter and finally decided to do a burn on one. I'm very pleased with the way this one turned out. 🧡🔥

✅️ - Well, I have finished this beauty. Put another 5 hours into it today and was able to get it completed. This was such an interesting process with each individual hair. Total burn time was around 10 hours. I enjoyed every second of it.
Now, onto the next... 🔥🧡

Pleased to post that this piece is finally complete 🙌 it is the first of its kind from me - that being a piece of furniture! This side table is made of maple with an "espresso" stain and polyurethane finish. The loon dancing just tops it off 😍
This will be available at the Apsley Studio Tour, on the 3rd weekend in September!

Just finished this moose up today! It's on a beautiful large baswood slab. It's quickly become my favourite so far out of my projects in 2024. I may have found my favourite subject to work on... 😍🫎🔥
