1. The Roof Inspection (Your First Line of Defense)
When the rain pauses, grab a ladder. You need to inspect the lap sealant—the thick, rubbery caulking around your roof vents, AC units, antennae, and side seams.

What to look for. Look for tiny hairline cracks, bubbling, or areas where the sealant has pulled away from the roof material.

The Fix: Don’t just caulk over dirt. Clean the area with isopropyl alcohol first, then apply an RV-specific self-leveling lap sealant (like Dicor) or a specialized liquid rubber sealant to fill the gaps.
