BIRD HOUSE, CRAZY GOOD PASTRIES 🥐 @maisonkookoo just opened its doors for the first time yesterday. They popped up on my feed and I knew I had to get there to check it out. The owners of this place are clearly French and they bake like they are too. Definitely high level. For the record, it’s definitely bird house. I found out the owners had an African parrot that used to watch them bake and named the place after it. Love that When I turned onto the road, I thought “there’s no way this is it” but when you walk inside, you get it. The pizza danish may have been my favourite of the bunch but there wasn’t a single thing I tried that wasn’t very high level. The croissants are proper too. The place isn’t cheap by any means but I assumed it wouldn’t be before going in. Butter ain’t cheap baby. Definitely recommend checking this spot out. #croissants #pastries #danish

Why Maison Kookoo? 🥐
(We get this question a lot… so we thought we’d share before you meet us tomorrow 👀)

This place was born from a deep love for baking — the kind that runs in the family (and yes, we’re convinced it’s genetic at this point).

Kookoo was our pastry chef’s beloved African parrot and companion for over 24 years. He grew up alongside flour-dusted counters, early mornings, and a home filled with baking passion. Kookoo witnessed it all.

He also had impeccable taste.
Favorite treat? Perfectly toasted bread. Always. 🥖

Today, Maison Kookoo carries his name as a tribute to love, legacy, and a lifelong devotion to artisan baking — passed down through generations.

Because some stories rise… just like good dough. 🥐
