I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with a passion for empowering others to achieve optimal health and wellness. It was through my own health struggles that I discovered naturopathic medicine, and appreciated it for not applying a temporary solution to my symptoms, but rather addressing the root cause of my concerns. It is my vision to help others achieve their health goals through treating them a
How do these little devils pop up literally overnight?
PMOS (PCOS) hair growth can be such a frustrating and embarrassing symptom of this condition. As if we don’t have enough to worry about already right?
Managing insulin resistance through nutrition, walking, building muscle and supplements like inositol and NAC can do wonders for these annoying chin/ side burn hairs… but I find that it’s also one of the hardest most treatment resistant symptoms to tackle.
I’ve tried everything for it and I still get laser hair removal to help manage it. Just because a symptom still shows up with PMOS doesn’t mean you’re failing or doing something wrong. Sometimes we need to look at other solutions to help manage things so we can be happy with the result.
On that note, brb I gotta book a laser appt because we got some work to do on this guy 😂

Put the electrolytes down girl! Water will do 🤍
Unless you’re sweating for >2 hours in a day you probably don’t need an electrolyte.
Most of us get plenty of sodium from our diet and the recommended daily limit is 2300 mg (ideal is more like 1500mg), so that packet that has 1000mg of sodium… not needed!
Too much sodium = more water retention, bloating, and increased risk of high blood pressure and heart disease.
Jenny47 with her discount code on electrolytes doesn’t know what she is talking about… water hydrates you just fine 🤍

Yes- I do go for my mammograms.
I get asked this all the time in practice- well “do you go for mammograms?” My answer before was not yet- but I will. I’m 34 but with some concerns we found I went early and I’ll keep going as needed as part of my care plan.
Is having your b***s squished like a pancake a fun way to start the day? No.
Is it as “sexy” as taking the supplements, eating the fibre, and lifting the weights? No.
Is it shown to prevent mortality from breast cancer and that the benefits of screening outweigh the risks? Yes.
It’s absolutely every persons choice whether they go for their screenings or not- but you deserve to access accurate information on the benefits and risks for YOU personally. Be sure to chat with your provider about what screenings are most indicated for you.
PSA to book that pap or mammogram you’ve been putting off- you owe it to yourself.
When health optimization becomes the enemy of imperfect consistency
Hot take:
Your health is probably not being held back by a lack of information.
It’s being held back by trying to execute a plan that is way more complicated than it needs to be.
What if you just go for the walk, go to bed, eat breakfast, or go to the gym?
You can optimize it later.
Right now, you probably just need to do the thing 🤍

In an online space where everyone has an opinion on what worked for them and their PMOS (PCOS), it can be hard to know who to trust.
Sharing what works for them, is not the same as understanding the science backed assessment and treatment options for a condition. Helping themselves doesn’t mean they have the skills to strategize, and coach you towards success.
Having PMOS doesn’t make me qualified to help you worth yours. 8 years of studying health, 1000s of research papers, continually evolving my clinical skills to translate science into action for you, and working with 1000s of other patients to understand nuances of women’s health…
That does 🤍
