The Hydrocut
The best cross-country MTB trails in Ontario; 30 kilometers of uninterrupted, flowing singletrack
The Hydrocut provides an unmatched mountain bike riding experience in Ontario. The 25 kilometers of uninterrupted, pure flowing singletrack paths were created and continue to be regularly maintained entirely by the hard work of volunteers, year after year since the 1998. The trails have become the favourite playground for local residents and visitors from afar.

The CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) has installed traps which you might see around Petersburg Regional Forest.
This is an annual survey that CFIA conducts in cities across the country, which is designed to detect invasive longhorned beetles, as well as other non-native wood boring insects (e.g. bark and ambrosia beetles, metallic wood borers, wood wasps, weevils, etc.).
There will be a total of 6 traps set up in forested areas and will be serviced every 3 weeks.
We ask that they are not tampered with by users. For more information please visit: https://inspection.canada.ca/en/plant-health/invasive-pests-and-plants/plant-pest-surveillance
Thank you!

Coming to a forest near you! Meet our newest addition to the Tricity area.
5/11ths - the wrench you didn’t know you needed - These two advance jump trails will utilize some of the natural terrain with additional wood features for a challenging ride.
Trail crews will be out working hard in hopes of having “5” and “11ths” ready to ride within the 2026 season.
Don’t forget to grab your 2026 friends of the hydrocut trail tag to make trails like this possible.

The Region of Waterloo has recently carried out forest management activities in the Hydrocut, specifically in the area adjacent to the Snyders parking lot. This work has affected the section of forest where the Dagmar Express and Grace trails are located.
While we were aware that forestry activities were planned, the extent of the impact on the trails and surrounding forest was greater than anticipated.
As a result, Dagmar Express and Grace will remain closed while we assess the damage and complete the necessary repairs. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make these trails rideable again.
For any questions or concerns regarding the forest management work, we encourage you to contact the Region of Waterloo directly.
