Promoted annually in Canada on June 28, its purpose is to remind individuals and businesses to review their policies and ensure they have coverage that's appropriate to their situation, and to be aware of what they are actually covered for.

It's highly encouraged for you to touch base with your agent or broker to review any policies you hold, changes that may impact you, and learn if there are other opportunities for you to take advantage of, such as new coverages or bundling offers. Here are a few areas you may want to look more specifically at with your insurance representative:

Today we reveal... is Friday the 13th truly unlucky? The answer may surprise you.

The answer is FALSE. There is mixed data on whether claims incidents increase on Friday the 13th. Research shows some people use more caution, which may offset any increase, but it's actually LESS likely to be a factor in accidents than something like Daylight Savings Time, when the daylight hours are changing and people may be suffering fatigue from the time change.
