Matlock Corley Community Solutions
Therapy, life coaching, and crisis assistance when you need it. Mental health is something that each person should prioritize and care for. Yes, that means moms.
Yes, that means people of African descent. Yes, that means college students. Yes, that means you! I am here to provide counselling and help if you need it.
đđžââď¸ Strength got you here.
But itâs not supposed to cost you your peace.
The âStrong Black Womanâ role is often praisedâŚ
but rarely unpacked.
Because behind that strength is often:
holding everything in
pushing through when youâre exhausted
feeling like you canât fall apart, even when you need to.
And over time, that doesnât just feel heavy.
It feels isolating.
You deserve support.
You deserve softness.
You deserve to not always be the one holding everything together.
Strength can be part of you,
but it doesnât have to be ALL of you.
đ˛ Send this to someone whoâs always âthe strong one.â

Mental Health Awareness Month may be coming to a close, but mental health doesnât operate on a calendar.
For many Black individuals and communities, the conversations weâre having now are ones that should have been happening all along. Openly, safely, and without shame.
Let this month be a reminder, not a moment:
⢠Your healing doesnât need permission.
⢠Rest is still valid.
⢠Support is still available.
⢠And you donât have to wait until next May to prioritize yourself.
Weâll keep showing up here, beyond the awareness posts and hashtags, because mental health is everyday work.
Whatâs one thing youâre committing to as we move forward?
Youâre not âtoo much.â
Youâre just used to handling too much⌠alone.
Survival mode doesnât always look chaotic.
Sometimes it looks like being high-functioning, reliable, and âon top of thingsâ⌠while quietly feeling exhausted.
Because when your body learns that it has to stay ready, alert, and self-sufficient,
it doesnât just switch off when life gets calmer.
It keeps going.
Healing isnât about becoming someone new.
Itâs about teaching your mind and body that youâre allowed to feel safe now.
And that takes time.
If this felt familiar, youâre not alone in it. đŤśđž
đ Save this for the days you feel like you have to carry everything by yourself.

You donât need a perfect routine to take care of yourself⌠just a few intentional moments to start your day.
If your mornings have been feeling rushed, heavy, or all over the place đđž this is your reminder that it can be simple.
Small shifts. Real impact. đ
Would you try this routine?
Drop a đż if youâre giving it a go.
If setting boundaries feels uncomfortable⌠youâre not imagining it.
For many of us, we were taught:
⢠Be available
⢠Be strong
⢠Donât disappoint people
⢠Donât âcause problemsâ
So when you start choosing yourself, it can feel like guilt⌠or even like youâre doing something wrong.
But youâre not.
Boundaries arenât about pushing people away.
Theyâre about protecting your capacity, your energy, and your well-being.
And if this is something youâre struggling with, you donât have to figure it out on your own.

Sometimes, the strongest thing you can do is simply say enough.
Boundaries arenât walls, theyâre declarations of self-respect, care, and growth. đż
She protects her peace, honors her energy, and grows anyway.
đ Double-tap if this resonates.
đ Share to remind someone else that their energy matters too.
Motherâs Day can bring up a lot of emotions, and not all of them are easy.
For some, itâs grief.
For others, itâs distance, tension, or complicated relationships.
And for many mothers, it can feel overwhelming instead of celebratory.
Whatever this day brings up for you⌠your feelings are valid.
You donât have to force happiness.
You donât have to explain your emotions.
And youâre allowed to honor the day in a way that feels right for you. đŤśđžđ¸

Motherâs Day is often framed as a celebration; but thatâs not everyoneâs experience.
For some, it brings up grief.
For others, it highlights distance or unresolved relationships.
And for many, it can feel overwhelming in ways that arenât always acknowledged.
If this time feels complicated for you, thereâs nothing wrong with that.
You donât have to reshape your feelings to fit the day.
Youâre allowed to move through it in a way that feels honest and supportive to you. đŤśđž
Weâll be sharing something later this week for those navigating this in real time.
đ˛ Be sure youâre following so you donât miss it.
Spring has a way of making it feel like you should be doing more⌠or feeling better.
âNew season, new you.â
âTime to reset.â
âGet back on track.â
But what if youâre still tired?
Still processing?
Still figuring things out?
Healing doesnât follow the calendar.
Youâre allowed to move at your own pace, even when everything around you is speeding up.
Thereâs nothing wrong with you for not feeling ânewâ yet.

Stress doesnât always look like falling apart.
Sometimes it looks like showing up, pushing through, and carrying more than you should.
For many of us, managing stress isnât just about routines, itâs about learning how to pause, soften, and support ourselves in ways we werenât always taught.
If today feels heavy, start small. One breath. One boundary. One moment to check in with yourself.
You donât have to carry everything at once. đ¤
