I have been asked by the amazing Christopher Clark to be one of the authors contributing to it. I am very much looking forward to this.

It's been MANY years since my books were available on Kindle Unlimited - but they are now.

New scam, though I'm thinking this is a bit of a longer game. I think they are trying to use authors who don't notice that NO BOOK TITLE IS MENTIONED to be excited and use the badge, giving it credibility. Thoughts?
Also the lower case p on the Paul? Weird.
It's been many years since I got out of bed intending to write a note for a book, then outlined a scene and then a chapter.
I haven't felt like this in so long. The Bone Heart story I'd written as a novella which I'm redoing as a novel... I was worried about trying to write a fantasy story but this feels so natural, the anxiety that had paralyzed me for years isn't there, and I'm loving what's coming together.
Can't believe I sat on the bed and then immediately bounced to the laptop. I needed to get some thoughts out. Writing some notes in my notebook or even on my phone wouldn't do.
It's still early days but so far, so good. So very, very good.
Thanks for being there.

Hey home office wall arrangement.

I saw this sign today at a McD’s. Um, I mean, I eventually figured it out but on the surface this is silliness. Agreed?
Something new. Lots going on (see the newsletter I just sent out) BUT for the D&D lovers (and Tales of the Valiant lovers) I just finished the conversion of one of my adventures to 5E D&D!
If you're a DM for 5E and up for giving me feedback on the adventure, whether reading it or running it, let me know! I'd love to get feedback on the quality of the conversion.
The Lost Cannon - coming soon for 5E.
Pitched my daughter on an idea about a novel, first in a sequel series. She listened intently, thought, and then gave me an enthusiastic “Yes. That is great. It works.” I guess my 2026 is now fully booked.
Regarding the US Settlement w/Anthropic.
I had a discussion with one of the lawyers. At first, he said given I was Canadian it didn’t apply and they were working on gettint a settlement doe Canadian authors. I mentioned I had registered my first four books with the Library of Congress in the US (the didn’t allow us to do it anymore after that for a reason i can’t remember) and so four of my books were listed as applicable in the settlement. He then advised that actually since my US Copyright rights had been violated and the books were registered, I could file a claim - so I did.
Thought I would pass this on in case any other authors are in the same boat as me.
It is very satisfying to send a completely rewritten version of a scene that my editors hated and for their email to start with, in all caps, “THIS IS GREAT!”
Sometimes I get feedback on a story that makes me need to walk away from it for a bit, mull things over, and figure out if I will return to it. Today, I have returned to such a story. I can see the path forward. Ever have something like that?
Nothing fun, just saying hey, how are you?
