Laurier Emergency Response Team

Hey Golden Hawks!

It's that time of year again where the Emergency Response Team hosts their annual mass casualty event. We are very excited to have our responders train for mass casualty emergencies - but that means we need YOUR help! We need volunteers who are willing to act like patients so that our responders can practice their first aid skills.

We will be hosting the mass casualty event this Saturday March 26 from 12pm-3pm... location TBD.

Please fill out the sign up form IN OUR BIO if you would like to join our team this Saturday. Feel free to invite your friends and have them fill out the form as well.

Once you confirm your availability, we will be sending you a detailed email outlining what the day would look like, the location, and what your specific role would be as a volunteer.

We will be extending our hours for St. Patrick’s day from 11 am - 5 pm. Please call (519) 885 3333 ext 3333 for medical emergencies. Stay safe golden hawks!!

The Emergency Response Team at Laurier is hosting a First Aid Pop-Up Raffle event. This fun and engaging event will be held on campus on March 10th from 11 am - 3 pm. In an effort to provide Laurier students with an opportunity to learn first aid skills, we will be having multiple booths set up across campus. You can find our responders at booths in the concourse, Lazaridis building, and the Science Atrium! Every time you go to a booth and learn a first aid skill, you will receive a raffle ticket for a fun prize!! We hope to see you there :)

Hi, my name is Noah Chow and I’m the Internal Trainer Executive for ERT this year. I am currently in my Masters of Kinesiology with a focus on Spine Biomechanics; however, I did complete my undergrad here at Laurier in our Health Science program. My passions include portaging around Northern Ontario which means I love buying camping gear. I also am very passionate about improving health in third world countries which I do through my own not for profit organization called Health Matters Worldwide. Throughout my years on ERT, I have met so many amazing people and I am looking forward to build more of these relationships and mentor the next generation of responders.
