Unfortunately, this means many people live years undiagnosed or with incorrect diagnoses. Private testing through Armin Labs in Germany https://arminlabs.com/en
or
Igenix Labs in California -https://igenex.com/
are more accurate but often not accepted by GPs.
Finding a Lyme-literate medical professional can be life-changing.
The testing for Lyme disease in Canada is highly inaccurate nor is it reliable. Canada is using an outdated and flawed test, yet doctors rely on it for treatment.
The question is, would you do a test and accept the results if you knew the test was less than 50% accurate?

Project Lyme and the Bay Area Lyme Foundation fund groundbreaking research:
When Lyme disease infects the brain, it causes inflammation and cell death, similar to other neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and multiple sclerosis (MS). It also activates fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs), which regulate crucial cell functions and get disrupted by inflammation. Building upon their previous studies, researchers from Tulane University found that both live Lyme bacteria and nonviable remnants activated the fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs). Importantly, they discovered that two research compounds—an FGFR1 inhibitor and an FGFR1-3 inhibitor—were effective in reducing inflammation and cell death, offering a potential new treatment for neurological Lyme disease.
