Today is Canada Day and we want to wish all Canadians a thoughtful Canada Day🧡. If you're spending the day solemnly or in joy it is a time to gather with family and friends.
Our Halibut House family recognizes that our Canadian history began long before the first 🍁.
Halibut House would also like to acknowledge that its head office is located in Toronto and on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now the home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
On this day and throughout the year the Halibut House family explores and educates ourselves on reconciliation and the Indigenous history 🧡.
What does the Canadian dream mean to Halibut House🇨🇦?
The founding couple, Julie and Ken, arrived in Canada as refugees, and dedicated themselves to bettering their lives. Julie eventually found her love in food service resulting in the eventual creation of Halibut House. Together, they worked tirelessly for years perfecting their craft, often working seven days a week, and over fourteen hours a day. Hard work, learning, and passion has continued to be an emphasis for their business and their commitment to providing a quality experience has led to the growth of the Halibut House chain.
