Portable Imaging and Intrahospital Transport Reduction in the ICU 05/22/2026

Imaging plays an important role in monitoring patient health and supporting clinical decision-making in intensive care units (ICU).

This article explores how portable imaging is used in the ICU, why intrahospital transport reduction is an important goal in healthcare, and how spectral X-ray imaging is being studied in bedside imaging environments.

This moment at the House of Commons says more than any summary could.

In the video, the Honourable Bardish Chagger highlights the role KA Imaging is playing in advancing solutions that can truly shift health outcomes. Hearing the Honourable Randeep Sarai reinforce that message, and recognize KA Imaging as a standout example, underscores the real-world relevance of this work.

From early support by Grand Challenges Canada to national recognition, to solutions now being used in the field, this is what it looks like when innovation moves beyond concept and into impact.

Remote Access Imaging in Global Health: Opportunities & Considerations 04/27/2026

Access to medical imaging remains uneven across the world. In many rural and low-resource settings, healthcare teams do not have reliable access to X-ray imaging. Others rely on outdated equipment that limits image quality and diagnostic confidence. Without reliable imaging, clinicians need to make difficult decisions with incomplete information.

Improving access to X-ray technology is one of the most practical steps toward closing diagnostic gaps. Facilities need imaging systems that deliver meaningful clinical information at the point of care.

DES Radiography is Becoming More Accessible with Reveal 35C 04/13/2026

With the introduction of Reveal 35C, integrated with patented SpectralDR technology, spectral imaging is less constrained by workflow and infrastructure requirements. KA Imaging has created spectral X-ray technology that is affordable, practical, portable, and designed to integrate into a variety of clinical settings.

SpectralDR Technology Explained: KA’s Dual-Energy Tech 04/09/2026

In 2015, KA Imaging was founded with one major goal: to redefine what X-ray technology could do. Guided by the philosophy that innovation begins by asking not what X-ray can’t do, but what it could do — the company set out to rethink one of medicine’s most established imaging tools.

In our latest blog, we explore our core SpectralDR technology and how it can be applied across both medical and non-medical settings.

Can’t believe it’s been a year already! In April 2025, the SpaceXray research group marked an incredible milestone: the first medical X-ray in space. In a post on X on April 2, 2025, Fram2 Mission Commander Chun Wang shared the first image — a hand with a ring — echoing the very first X-ray captured over a century ago by Wilhelm Röntgen.

The SpaceXray group continues to advance this research — take a peek at these photos from ECR earlier this year, where Sheyna Gifford and David Lerner presented their work.

At KA Imaging, space remains an exciting area of exploration for our SpectralDR technology. Stay tuned for more news in the coming months!

Great interview by Charlie Hicks, VP of Global Medical Sales at KA Imaging:

“The future of DR is not about cheaper detectors but about smarter detectors,” he says. “We see DR evolving into a low-dose, high-value clinical platform that supports early detection and risk assessment for multiple conditions: lung disease, cardiovascular disease, bone health, and more. Not as a replacement for CT or MRI, but as a smarter gatekeeper, with the long-term potential to support population-level risk assessment in ways that aren’t practical with higher-dose modalities.”

Tuberculosis continues to affect over 10 million people each year, yet a significant number of cases are still missed, often because patients don’t present clear symptoms.

In this video, healthcare professionals from Nigeria and Kenya share how this challenge is playing out on the ground. Dr. Stephen John (Nigeria) discusses how imaging is helping identify presumptive TB cases beyond symptom-based screening. Brandy Jeruto (Kenya) explains how X-ray supports earlier clinical decisions when access to lab testing is delayed.

At Village of Hope Hospital, this approach is already making a difference - supporting earlier diagnosis, faster treatment initiation, and improved access to care within the community.

It’s a reminder that strengthening how we detect TB — especially at the front line — remains a critical part of reducing its global impact.

Hospitals report rising costs and financial pressure in new AHA analysis 03/19/2026

As health systems look for ways to improve efficiency under increasing pressure, getting more value from existing infrastructure becomes critical.

For critically ill patients, intrahospital transport requires coordination, time, and resources, and is often something care teams aim to minimize when appropriate.

From an imaging perspective, this raises an important question: are we fully leveraging the tools already in place? Radiography is one of the most widely used and accessible modalities, yet its clinical potential continues to evolve.

Advances such as SpectralDR X-ray can provide additional image information beyond conventional radiography from a single acquisition, supporting improved visualization of different tissue types while maintaining the same workflow.

The opportunity may not be more imaging, but more from each exam.
