On Monday, LHCI had the privilege of volunteering at the by participating in a food engagement activity!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out. Together we sorted a total of 2,749 lbs of food which will help those in the KW region that are in need!💜💛

Looking to get involved? LHCI is volunteering with Tiny Home Takeout which is an initiative dedicated to providing nutritious, free meals to those in the Waterloo region who need it!

There are two volunteering slots available for sign up:
March 18th from 2pm - 6pm OR March 22nd from 2pm - 6pm. You can sign up using the link in our bio and for any other questions, send us a DM. We hope to see you there!💜💛

Volunteer with LHCI on March 10th, 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM to support the Food Bank of Waterloo Region! 🥫

Volunteers will help sort non-perishable food items and tour the facilities to learn about the fight against food insecurity.

To kick off the second half of winter term, LHCI is holding a hygiene drive in support of the House of Friendship shelter!💜💛 We are looking for donations such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant or any other toiletry products. These can be dropped off at our drop off bins at any of the following locations:
◦ Lazardis Hall
◦ Arts Atrium
◦ Science building
Be sure to scan the QR code when you drop off items at a bin. The top two donors will win a $25 gift card of their choosing!

Two weeks ago, LHCI hosted our first on-campus presentation with guest speakers from Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, who shared powerful insights on domestic violence and the organization’s impact in our community. 💜

Did you know that every 6 days a woman is killed by her intimate partner? Raising awareness about domestic violence is crucial for change and supporting the mission of essential community organizations such as WCSWR.

Join us on Nov 30th, from 1-3 PM at Uptown Waterloo Square for the Voices Empower Walk to stand in solidarity and support WCSWR’s vital work providing shelter, transitional housing, and outreach services for survivors.

Laurier Homeless Care Initiative invites you to join us and participate in a fundraising walk hosted by Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region (WCSWR). This is a walk in hopes of raising funds and awareness for domestic violence and in recognition of Women Abuse Prevention Month.

The walk will take place in Uptown Square Waterloo from 1-3pm on November 30th, 2024. There will be complementary Poppy’s bagels and hot chocolate after the walk. If you are looking to volunteer with the club at the event, please indicate that on the google form found in our instagram bio. Volunteers are to be at the event from 12:30-3:30pm to assist with various tasks.

Students looking to participate must sign up using the google form located in our bio. After doing so, you must register on our Voices Empower team page and provide a $6 donation fee that will go to support the WCSWR’s mission. Feel free to DM us with any question or concerns! 💜💛
