Rural Roots Family Farm
We are a small family farm raising beef cattle, and laying hens. Our animals are bred and raised on our farm, allowing us to care for them individually.
I hope you choose to try our meat and see what difference passion makes. My husband Mike and I both grew up on family farms and we want to raise our two children on our family farm. We will provide our customers with food that is grown locally, sustainably, ethically, and without the use of antibiotics or hormones. We want give our consumers a clear view of how their food is humanly raised and the opportunity to learn about traditional farming practices. We farm because we enjoy it.

First day of baling hay in 2026. 1 wagon done, many more to follow (if we're lucky!)

The 2025 babies went to their summer pasture to be weaned. The 2 year old cattle got some new jewelry, and everybody is on some fresh pasture this weekend. Aside from some mooing, everyone seems happy 😊

One of my pest control specialists left me a gift this AM. A dead rat on the door step, where I walk to my car on the way to work, where I would see it. I have received a few rats in the barn, a big rat outside the chicken coop yesterday, and one last week while mowing. You might wonder how I know it's for me? I'm sure it's from Katniss our oldest, feral barn cat. She is content to follow me wherever I go, without ever being touched. She clearly appreciates her twice a day cat food, in her own bowl away from the younger, more friendly cats. I see her out hunting everyday, but only occasionally does she gift me rats, mice, or moles. Like a crow bringing baubles to humans, relationships are formed with all the animals. Literally the nicest part of the day!

All this beautiful weather calls for some BBQ! I like to experiment with what I can cook on the BBQ. Turns out, almost anything! Today's culinary creation is beef curry.

Our 2024 twins - Enchantress and Huntress a.k.a. Texas and Florida. They have always been very different in size, obviously Texas is the biggest! They are happy to be out on pasture.
