Since March 1, 2016 Manitoba License plate haven't been issued with the registration date on a sticker.

The plates do however, have a reflective coating!

If you have a license plate that's been around for a while, that reflective coating may be starting to fade. This coating is needed to ensure your vehicle is visible while parked at night. If your plate is no longer reflective, you could face up to a $113 fine!

If your plate is under 5 years old, and the coating has faded, MPI will replace it for free. After 5 years, they come at a cost of $15 a pair. A small price to pay to avoid a fine, and keep others safe!

Manitobans are invited to vote on the design for a new licence plate that will let drivers show their support for Manitoba’s provincial parks!

Reminder: When you see flashing lights - slow down.

Emergency responders and roadside workers put themselves at risk to help others every day. Drivers are reminded to slow to 60 km/h when passing stopped emergency or service vehicles with flashing lights. In 2024, 124 collisions involving emergency vehicles resulted in 22 injuries and 1 fatality. Slow down. Move over. Save lives.

The weather is nice which means there will be more motorcyclists out and about. Be sure to check not once, but twice while switching lanes as motorcycles can often hide in blind spots. Additionally, give motorcyclists in front of you plenty of space at intersections and stop lights. 🏍️
