🌿 Big news from the heart of Dena Kayeh in northern B.C.! 🌿
After decades of visionary leadership, the Kaska Nation is proud to share a historic milestone: our Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area (IPCA) proposal, Dene K’éh Kusān, is moving forward in partnership with the Province of British Columbia.

This means:
✅ A pause on new mineral staking within the proposed IPCA.
✅ A commitment to collaborative land use planning.
✅ A powerful step toward Indigenous-led conservation and a thriving land-based economy.

In Kaska, Dene K’éh Kusān means “the people’s way we follow.” It reflects our vision to care for the land according to our laws, values, and sacred responsibilities.

This is a significant moment not only for the Kaska Dena, it’s good news for all British Columbians. Protecting land, water, and culture creates a more resilient and vibrant future for everyone who calls this place home.
