UVic Innovation Centre

Applications are now open for the Fall intake of the Labs4 Technology Readiness Level-Up (TRL) program.

This four-month, fully funded commercialization experience supports student innovators across Canada who are ready to take an idea, research project, or prototype closer to market. Through the program, participants gain hands-on experience working in applied research labs while learning how to turn innovation into real-world impact.

Students and recent graduates from all disciplines are encouraged to apply, including those working on technical, scientific, social, or community-based innovations. The program also welcomes participants from equity-deserving groups and underrepresented regions across Canada.

Applications are open to current college, undergraduate, master’s, PhD students, postdocs (within five years of graduation), and recent graduates (within two years).

Health Research Day was a great event on campus focused on advancing health through community, culture, and change while marking the 1-year anniversary of the Faculty of Health at the University of Victoria ✨

It was inspiring to hear presentations from entrepreneurs in our ecosystem and learn more about the exciting innovation happening across and .

Thank you to Dr. Rishi Gupta and the entire CAMTEC team for organizing another engaging event that brought together researchers, students, industry, government, and innovators from across the region.

Congratulations to Toby Murray, a supported UVic entrepreneur, behind Secret Plan Games, one of the B.C. recipients of Creative BC’s Early Stage Growth Program. 👏

This funding will support early-stage development, from prototyping to production, and help grow B.C.’s digital media and gaming sector.
