Having a great summer teaching! - people brand-new to cycling, people new to Canada, singles, couples, people with e-bikes, some folks needing help buying or selling a bike, you name it! If it gets more people riding, I'm game :)

During a Joyriding lesson, I often make adjustments and recommendations to improve the fit and comfort of someone's bike. Sometimes they will need a new or different one. I then advise on the type and size of bike, to ensure they get one that is right for them.

Here is Tina, who had a lesson with me to get more comfortable riding a bike, after many years of not riding at all. I then helped her select from various new & used bikes, before she finally settled on this youth-sized Townie - perfect for her 4'11" height!

Keep riding a bike to combat cabin fever!

According to our Provincial Health Officer, Dr Bonnie Henry: "Dr. Henry also encouraged people to continue going outside, provided they are maintaining their distance from others. Some of the activities she recommended included dog walking, bike riding and playing outdoors as a family while keeping a safe distance from others."

Kind of excited about my first Joyriding product: Cheery Ears!
These are cozy ear-warmers worn over your helmet straps, secured with velcro inside.
Some local cyclists might remember "Earwigs", which are very similar but haven't been produced for years now. Mine have a couple of key improvements over that design.
In fact, you can't find them anywhere. (Well, except for the Fairfield Bicycle Shop, now). Different colours & patterns available, including reversible fabrics. WooHOO!

My latest student Debra:

" A dream come true! I thought I was too old to ride again - not so! Thanks to the incredibly patient staff at the Fairfield Bicycle Shop and a wonderful cycling lesson from Susanna (of joyriding.ca) - here I am once more, enjoying freedom and fun - on a new bike. I can’t recommend all of these people enough." Debra S.
