"My dear little one, if you are upset, I promise to share my calm."

We are excited to share that Dr. Jillian Roberts' latest book "Calm" comes out February 2022!

From Orca Publishers:

"This soothing board book by child psychologist, professor and author Dr. Jillian Roberts was written to remind us that the little people in our lives need us to be their calm. To recognize their big feelings, teach them how to honor them and let them go. A valuable tool to help young ones learn to co-regulate, Calm is just as much for babies as it is the adults in their lives."

Our own Dr. Jillian Roberts received the great pleasure of the Honorary Citizen Award of Victoria last week:

"For [her] advocacy for children and families, and for work directly with them, providing mental health and wellness counselling. Dr. Roberts is also a recognized children's author and media influencer and focuses on providing support, resources and advice for families grappling with many of today’s complex issues, including prejudice and racism, poverty, gender differences and climate change."

Sometimes we might feel like we just “hit a wall.” The good news is that one, it’s temporary and won’t last forever; and two, it’s a brilliantly timed wake-up call that something needs to change.

Sometimes the walls we hit are there for us to rest on. We’ve got more on what to do next - link below!

We all need a reminder of this sometimes. If taking care of yourself (whatever that looks like for you) means the end of a relationship/situation/conversation, you’re better off burning that bridge. You owe yourself your own loyalty, first - always. 📷:

As we start to wrap our heads around moving away from the strictest physical distancing regulations and towards more “normal” lives, it’s a good idea to take a little time to process and reflect on what we’ve learned about ourselves over the past year. Chances are we’ve had a little more time to really examine our lives and whether we’re spending our time and energy the way we want to (whether we welcomed these realizations with open arms or not).
