โญ๏ธ๐โญ๏ธThank you !!!!โญ๏ธ๐โญ๏ธ
For 26 years Rainbow Kitchen has been serving our neighbours and helping build a stronger, more satiated community. Celebrating our 16th year as a non-profit in April, it has taken an entire village of incredible people to get to where we stand today. Serving over 250,000 meals a year!
No questions asked, no fees, no religious affiliation, no barriers to accessing a warm meal in a safe and welcoming space. Over 200 volunteers help our small staff of 5 today, and it takes everyone now and everyone who has served lunch, chopped veggies, sorted produce, helped cook, clean, and lead this organization as one of our board members to make this magic happen. We are first a little community inside ourselves and the best part about Rainbow Kitchen is that all are welcome.
It is transformational to be acknowledged with this award, shining a special spotlight on the decades long work weโve done and helping rejuvenate our team for the days ahead. Thank you to the amazing we are truly lucky to part of such a supportive collation of community leaders. A huge thank-you to the for sponsoring this impactful acknowledgment, and most important is how we know we couldnโt do this alone, our fellow nominees at are equally as deserving of recognition and appreciation for the tireless work they do for so many and how great a partner they have been to us over the years. We celebrate this with them and all the hard working non-profits that help make this city the warm and welcoming place it is today.

A heartfelt thank you to Myron and his team from Running Room Victoria! His generous donation of electrolyte water, fresh fruit, and gently used running shoes go a long way in supporting our guests. Volunteer Appreciation Week Spotlight: Community Care in Every Cut
Good vibes, great cuts, and community care ๐
Once a month, Gary the Barber joins us at Rainbow Kitchen to offer free haircuts for our guests. His time, skill, and generosity go far beyond a trim.
These moments help restore dignity, confidence, and comfort. Access to basic services like a haircut is something many of our guests may not otherwise have, and Gary helps make that possible in a meaningful way.
We are deeply grateful for his continued support and the care he brings to our community โ๏ธ

๐๐ง Volunteer Appreciation Week Spotlight: School Meal Program โTriple Threatโ ๐ง๐
This week, we are celebrating just a few of the amazing people who help make Rainbow Kitchen what it is ๐
Rachel has been part of our School Meal Program for the past year, helping package muffins and prepare veggie packs for local schools. Her steady dedication helps ensure students receive nourishing food they can count on ๐
Christine joins us twice a week, showing up with kindness and consistency. She first got involved after her daughter encouraged her to volunteer and has stayed ever since, loving the connection, the community, and the chance to give back in a hands-on way ๐
Fiona brings a calm, joyful energy to the kitchen. She volunteers because supporting kids in our school program truly brings her happiness. Outside of Rainbow Kitchen, she enjoys time with family and friends and can often be found with a good book ๐
We are so grateful for each of you and for all our Rainbow Kitchen volunteers who show up with heart every week. You make this work possible ๐ซ

๐๐ด During Volunteer Appreciation Week, weโre especially excited to share some wonderful news from Rainbow Kitchen!
Weโve created a brand new volunteer role that is already helping us rescue even more food than ever before. Thanks to this expanded support, our team is able to process and store greater volumes of rescued food, turning it into nourishing meals for our community.
This work is only possible because of our incredible volunteers. From the kitchen to behind the scenes, your time, care, and commitment make everything we do possible. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.
Weโre also continuing to grow our farm and food rescue connections to keep this impact going. If you know someone who may be able to support this work, please reach out to Tracy at [email protected]
Together, we are building something stronger, kinder, and more sustainable every day.
