The way medium format film looks, shot on the Hasselblad 501c, is insane for a camera from 1993! Arguably better than digital pictures from my other professional cameras and lenses from today. The bokeh this lens produces is so smooth and buttery! This editorial shoot was to showcase the new Kamr Design hats for 2026. Matching the vibe with styling and apparel by Franky! I want to shoot more like this! If you want to shoot reach out!

What do you prefer digital or medium format?

Both film stocks have been super fun to shoot and expose. Learning the differences in the final results.
Ektar 100 is definitely more saturated and punchy.
Which do you prefer?
Kodak Gold 200 is versatile and cheap. But don’t let the lower price fool you. It shoots great especially during afternoon light. I was shooting it on more over cast days though which was not ideal but I think it turned out nicely.
Shooting both medium format films on the Hasselblad 501c with the top down viewfinder makes shooting and slowing down to compose the shot a practice in patience and composition. Films were developed and scanned at Kerrisdale Cameras.
Is a muscle up a functional exercise? …Escaping zombies, running from cops, or perhaps more common, filming athletes from the top of a lifting rack. Why do you train?

Portraits for the 2026 End2End Bike relay team. I unfortunately was not able to ride along with them this year but they set out last night from the Trek Bike Store in Victoria on their 48hr journey to Port Hardy and back!
They’re somewhere north island by now after riding all through the night. An amazing feat of ability, all to raise funds for Island Kids Cancer Society.
Follow along the ride by following end2endcancer and donate to great cause.
Don’t mind the last two photos for the two members who couldn’t make photo day plus a special one at the end 😂

Old vs new. A fully mechanical camera from the 90’s which shoots medium format film, or a new digital small form factor camera.
Both are fun to shoot and give different results. I like shooting them both and it’s almost like comparing apples vs oranges. The Hasselblad really forces me to slow down, think about light composition and framing as I only have 12 shots. I need to make each one count.
While the Fuji allows me to quickly snap and review without thinking as much about the technical aspects of shooting but provides instant visual feedback through the screen. Convenient.
